Day Number Two

I am already struggling with how I am going to make Amelia's time at home as exciting as her time spent at school. In school she had a giant gross motor space for climbing, crawling, and pushing bikes. At every corner of every room there was a fine motor opportunity. I am putting into plan a change for our office. I'm going to make it a smaller office with an area for play. It won't be as great as an "Infant Square" but it will have to do. I thought I would post today something that John Hancock most likely did not have...a recycling box of paper. I didn't have a paper bag for our recyclables the other day so I put a few random items in this Pampers box. It has become her most favorite thing in our home and is easily the reason I am able to get anything done.
Here are some favorite shots...
Hmmm...what's in here?
Wow! Paper

She loves to sing in the tube.

So proud. "Ta-Da"

Mommy, don't we need these T Passes?

Day Number One

My daughter Amelia has been the luckiest girl around. Since she was 8 weeks old she has been able to come to work on the train with mommy and daddy and go to school in Boston. School has been where I have worked on and off for the past 8 years. It is a place that feels like home to us. Every morning we say goodbye to daddy as he goes off to South Station and we make our way through the wind and the business of Back Bay Boston. When we arrive she is so very excited to be at school. Her teachers are three amazing women that I am incredibly privileged  to call my friends. She is now a year old and has become a social, happy, and intelligent creature. I credit a lot of her language, motor skills, friendly disposition, and silliness to her experiences in Boston and the time spent with these three ladies.

Now here we are solo...

Last Friday my school closed it's doors for good and we all had to say goodbye. It was one of the hardest things I have had to go through. The women that I work with, the women that care for my child are now people I will only see on occasion. I wanted to start this blog to update photos of Little and to chronicle our experiences of staying home together. Every time she takes a step (she has started walking), signs or says a new word, or expresses herself; I have a little ache in my heart for what her teachers are missing.

On the slide.
This is for you Lynne, Lisa, Jen, and Carolyn
